Learn to Row with ANA
Note - our Learn to Row program is currently suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
ANA regularly conduct Learn to Row courses, designed to instruct complete beginners in the skills of boat handling and correct rowing technique. Most lessons happen in single sculls and there is also some rowing in crew boats.
The course comprises of four 1.5 hour lessons on Sunday mornings beginning at 8:30am. They generally run consecutively but may be interrupted by bad weather or other events.
The cost of the course is $100, including a $50 deposit to secure your place. The balance is payable at or before the first lesson.
Additional rowing sessions following the course are offered free of charge to help you decide if you would like to join the club.
Participants must be 12 years and over and be capable of swimming at least 100 metres competently.
To ensure the safety of participants, we cap the course at 10 people.
Members should note that assisting with a full Learn to Row course will count towards your volunteering hours for the year.
Please contact us here to book your place or further inquire about the course. There is a maximum number of 10 participants per course.
