Learn to Row

Our Sunday Learn to Row course is designed to teach complete beginners the skills of boat handling and correct rowing technique.

The Sunday Learn to Row course is a 5-week course that focusses on single sculls, progressing to crew boats.  The course comprises of five 1.5 hour lessons on consecutive Sundays at 8:30 am. There is a maximum of 10 participants in each course. Participants from 12 years to 102 years are welcome! Participants must be confident, competent swimmers (for example, able to swim 100m while wearing rowing gear) and physically strong enough to handle rowing equipment.

The cost is $100 per person. A $50 deposit is payable to secure your place in a course. The balance is payable immediately prior to the course commencing. 

Additional rowing sessions following the course are offered free of charge to help you decide if you would like to join the club.
 
The next available Learn to Row course begins on Sunday 7 July, with a Junior Learn to Row course for 12 to 18-year olds running from Tuesday 2 April to Friday 5 April 2024. If you wish to register for either of these courses, email  learntorow@anarowingclub.org.au.

Junior (high school age) Learn to Row courses are scheduled for the April and October school holidays.

Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 April
Tuesday 24 to Friday 27 September
Follow-up sessions will take place in the second week of school holidays.

Juniors’ Learn to Row Course: 2-5 April 2024

This is a great opportunity for juniors (12-18 years) to learn to row during the school holidays!

Dates: Tuesday 2 April to Friday 5 April 2024
Time: 8am to approximately 9:30am each day
